From 26th to 28th November the SPS took place in Nuremberg. On 135.500 sqm with 1,585 exhibitors, 63,708 visitors were registered.
Also this year the fair was fun - interesting visitors and great discussions. The automation industry showed again that it is the leader in Industry 4.0.
The highly qualified visitors came to the fair with specific questions. In intensive consulting discussions at the stands, the solution approaches of the different manufacturers were compared and thus the optimal answers for the automation task in the company were found.
ipf electronic from Lüdenscheid had also been a sought-after destination for many trade visitors. Approaches to solutions from a wide range of industries were discussed here.
Across all industries, the visitors found the new generation of distance-measuring laser sensors particularly interesting. The PT64 series, which is optionally available with laser dot or laser line in seven different measuring ranges from 21mm to 1000mm, is based on the triangulation method. With this method, the distance to an object is measured indirectly via the angle of incidence of the light signal reflected from the object. In addition to distance proportional analog outputs, the new devices offer digital signal outputs for distance evaluation. Via a device interface and a free parameterization software, the user gets a quasi unique view of the sensor functionality and can parameterize the devices optimally according to his needs. In this way, even demanding measuring tasks can be easily implemented.
In conjunction with the likewise new Ethernet adapter VKSI0297, the PT64 can be easily integrated into industrial communication, thus enabling convenient parameterisation of the sensors from any PC connected to the network. Furthermore, all color, contrast or line sensors from ipf electronic that integrate an M5 4-pin round connector for the RS232 interface are compatible with the Ethernet adapter. This makes the adapter ideal for the demand-oriented retrofitting of devices already in use and an uncomplicated solution for integrating the devices into the local network or the Internet.
