Not "just" a fork! New fork light barriers with IO-Link
In order to satisfy the requirements of Industry 4.0 and the advancing digitalization of production, the continuous advancement of our products is extremely important. That is why we have completely revised our type OG fork light barriers without losing sight of their proven technology.
The highlight of the new series is the IO-Link function, now integrated by default. Various settings can be made easily and conveniently via IO-Link master (e.g. VY000005). The forks have 4 sensor modes: Standard (switching frequency of up to 5000Hz and repeatability of 0.02mm), High resolution (30% increased resolution for small part detection), Power mode (higher transmitting power with increased functional reserve for improved resistance to contamination) and Speed mode (switching frequency of up to 8000 Hz). Other setting options include the selection of the switching output (push-pull, PNP or NPN) and the switching function (NC, NO). A turn-on or turn-off delay can also be assigned to the switching output. Several teach-in versions have been integrated to simplify the setting of process values, such as the size of an object.
In this context, either single values can be taught in (single-value teach-in) or teaching can be done during the ongoing process (dynamic teach-in). In addition, two teach points (two-value teach-in) can also be programmed to implement a switching threshold at the output. In addition, the fork light barriers feature a diagnostics function to evaluate the process stability, device status and teach-in quality. Current process values, part counters, device temperature, min./max. values and teach-in switching points can also be accessed. This results in multiple options which further extend process reliability with a straightforward range of solutions, as we offer a device for every size.
Furthermore, the fork light barriers with IO-Link handle the same as before, for example manual adjustment of the fork, adjustment of the response sensitivity with a potentiometer or the preselection of the output function (NO/NC) with a rotary switch.
The housings of the fork light barriers are made of zinc die-cast or aluminum and are powder-coated. They are therefore more resistant than painted housings. The optics are made of glass. The forks have a push-pull end stage and can thereby be used as PNP or NPN systems. The operating voltage is 10…30V and the output current is 100mA. The standard devices are equipped with a red light LED. The connection is made via an M8-connector.
