IIoT is the straight topic at the meeting of the ipf electronic sales team

This statement opened the meeting of the ipf electronic sales team on September 13 and 14. A statement that was confirmed by all participants, as such an event was not possible in the last two years due to the pandemic.

The focus of the event was once again on digitalization, which is constantly giving rise to new concepts and product ideas. Current developments in the field of energy supply are forcing all companies to look at the various energy sources, their consumption and possible savings. In many cases it is possible to determine the total demand, but information on how the energy flows are distributed and where, when and how much is consumed is often not available. It is therefore necessary to create decentralized measuring points, collect data and evaluate it. If possible, all this should be done with an easily integrated and scalable system that combines and transparently displays both new measurement data and inventory information. Of course, IT security concepts and flexible parameters for data storage must also be taken into account. These parameters often lead to very complex and cost-intensive systems.

A new IIoT concept, which was presented to ipf electronic's sales staff, shows that this can also be implemented simply and smartly.

The straightforward element is a gateway that can be easily installed decentrally in the company, records and stores inventory data and information from newly installed sensors, forwards it onward transmission if required and visualizes it in a freely configurable dashboard. All the necessary tools are available on the device, resulting in a simple, clear and cost-effective structure. The system is freely scalable and can therefore be easily rolled out company-wide. In addition to this gateway, the product portfolio has been expanded to include sensors for measuring energy consumption, so that an energy monitoring system can be set up very quickly and easily if required.

Along with the informative part of the event, there was also an opportunity for personal exchanges between colleagues and hands-on science, so to speak. During a visit to the Phänomenta adventure museum in Lüdenscheid, approx. 200 experimental stations were waiting to be explored and tried out on around 4000 square meters.

At the end of the event, all participants agreed that it was an all-round successful event!
