Spontaneous help
What do you do if a children's and youth recreation center is destroyed by fire? Help, of course. And that's exactly what ipf electronic did.
Jacqueline Glörfeld, Team Leader Head Office and Housekeeping at ipf electronic, provided the impetus for this. During a district conference in Lüdenscheid, she learned what the YMCA children's and youth recreation center "Audrey's" urgently needed after a devastating fire a few months ago, including kitchen furniture.
Jacqueline Glörfeld, who herself comes from the district in which the leisure center is located, knew of used but still very well-preserved canteen furniture that was left over after the company moved from Lüdenscheid to the Rosmart industrial estate in Altena. During the district conference, she came up with the idea of donating this furniture to the leisure center and spoke to her boss, who was instantly enthusiastic.
Ernest Okon, head of the children's and youth leisure center, and his team were recently able to take delivery of a total of 20 tables and 80 chairs, which will be temporarily stored until the center has been completely renovated.
"The items are simply too good to throw away. Instead, we hope that others will enjoy them for a long time to come," says Christopher Gierse, Commercial Director of ipf electronic, who, together with Jacqueline Glörfeld, actively supported the "Audrey's" team in loading the canteen furniture.
