IPF biathlon: fitness plus concentration
Every year in autumn, ipf electronic organizes its department manager event, in which the participants have to promote their team spirit along with themed workshops with lots of fun and even more voltage and master new challenges in this context. True to the motto of the organizer myBiathlon "Feel the tingling in your fingertips", the 17 participants from ipf electronic were able to enjoy a biathlon workshop in Winterberg/Neuastenberg at the beginning of October.
Right after lunch on the first day, the participants went to the event location, where real small-caliber rifles known from biathlon were already waiting for them.
First, everyone familiarized themselves with the sporting rifles during a free test shoot. Then the department heads were able to put their marksmanship to the test to determine their "shooting queen" or "shooting king". In the competition, everyone had to hit the targets at a distance of 50 meters five times with the rifle on and five times without the rest. Not an easy task for the inexperienced. Nevertheless, one participant actually managed to land 10 hits and make his victory perfect.
Another highlight of the event was the final team challenge, in which three teams from ipf electronic competed against each other in the biathlon. However, the second discipline along with the shooting had to be completed on scooters instead of skis due to a lack of snow, which caused a lot of amusement. The team challenge required stamina and concentration, especially in quick succession: Scooter riding - shooting - scooter riding - shooting - scooter riding - next team member...
After this special sporting competition, everyone had enough time to regenerate a little before meeting up for dinner together at the hotel. The unanimous opinion: the social get-together was one of the other highlights of the day.
However, despite the relaxed atmosphere, fun and voltage, the reality was not ignored, for which good team spirit is needed now more than ever. In the two days that followed, the department heads discussed the current tense economic situation via future workshops, among other things, and worked together to develop possible strategies to counter the situation effectively and in a targeted manner.
With new skills acquired during the biathlon, strengthened team spirit and medals as awards, the participants set off on their journey home after a joint lunch on the third day.
