Leakage detector from ipf receives an upgrade

The leak detector UY000001 from ipf electronic receives the UY000002 an upgrade. Both handheld devices are used for the targeted detection of leaks in compressed air networks, which can save considerable energy costs. The solutions can also be used on gas and steam pipes as well as vacuum systems. The UY000002 is equipped with a laser distance measurement (laser class 2) that works on the principle of time-of-flight measurement.

With the new function, the distance from the measurement location to the leakage point can now be determined exactly, which should simplify the accuracy of localizing the leakage. The distance value determined is also automatically transferred to the device together with other information (e.g. a photo of the leakage point, the size of the leakage, the loss of compressed air and the monetary losses caused by this, if the corresponding costs have been stored beforehand). This information and measured values can then be further processed, e.g. for documentation purposes.

Compressed air leaks in consumer networks generate noise in the ultrasonic range. If the leak detector is pointed via the camera at an area with a suspected leak, the ultrasonic waves of the escaping compressed air are bundled using a sound funnel and recorded via the microphone. The ultrasonic waves are converted into audible frequencies and transmitted to the headphones. Disturbing ambient noise can be largely suppressed due to the ultrasonic detection. The leak detectors from ipf electronic thus enable applications to locate barely audible and undetectable leaks from several meters away and achieve enormous savings in energy costs by eliminating them.
