Avoid massive damage
IPF shows solution for oil moisture measurement
Water is generally undesirable in hydraulic fluids and lubricants, as it can cause enormous damage to machines and systems in high concentrations. With the compact oil moisture sensor YF900020 from IPF, this can now be specifically avoided, as the solution was developed specifically for the measurement of moisture in transformer, motor, lubricating or hydraulic oils and diesel fuels.
The sensor integrates two freely configurable analog outputs (4...20mA) and an RS485 interface with Modbus RTU, which enable highly accurate measurement of the water activity (aw - value for the degree of saturation of the oil with water) and the process temperature (°C). In addition, the sensor can calculate the absolute water content (x) in ppm (parts per million).
The extremely robust YF900020 can withstand oil temperatures up to a maximum of +125 °C and an operating pressure of up to 300 bar.
The sensor is mounted simply and securely with a 1/2" process connection. Via an additional interface adapter (VY000026) can be used, for example, to make changes to the Modbus settings, scale the analog outputs or assign measured values such as water activity, temperature or water content.
