New multifunctional light grids from ipf
Ranges of up to 8,000 millimeters
The new multifunctional light curtains from ipf electronic are versatile and can therefore be used very flexibly. Presented for the first time at Motek, the systems in the OY41 series achieve ranges of up to 8,000mm and are available with both switching and analog output.
The light curtains OY41 light grids with switching output have field heights between 75mm and 2010mm. Thanks to the short response times (1.2ms to 4.8ms), even fast objects passing through the detection range of the light curtain are reliably recognized. Due to their variable ranges, these systems are ideal as an alternative to frame light barriers, for example, which are often used when parts ejected from a machine need to be detected. However, due to the fixed frame geometry, such devices have the decisive disadvantage that their detection range cannot be changed. The light curtains in the OY41 light grids are much more flexible in terms of the requirements of a wide range of applications, with ranges from 100mm to 8,000mm. Even objects with a diameter of just 2mm are reliably recognized (maximum range 400mm). The new light curtains can also be connected to all standard control (unit) systems via the exclusive-OR push-pull switching output.
If the position or dimension of an object needs to be determined, the light curtains OY41 with analog output and field heights from 232mm to 1418mm are recommended.
The smallest objects to be detected (middle area) can have a diameter of 6mm or 14mm, depending on the device version. The light curtains have both a voltage and current output. Four different measuring modes can be set via two integrated DIP switches. The ranges of these systems are between 300mm and 4,000mm, with the greatest resolution being achieved in the middle area.
