In industrial applications, counting, adding or subtracting pulses, measuring distances, or recording times are common tasks. However, it is often not worth using a PLC (programmable logic controller) just to inquire about data from only one or two sensors. Various evaluation options—including frequency counters, sum counters, time delay relays, tachometers, and wear/maintenance counters—allow for use in a wide range of applications. Via the batch counter or total sum function, even more complex control tasks can be implemented. Via the integrated front keypad, it is easy to program a preset value or the signal evaluation mode—for example, for operating a position measurement system or encoder.
