Instant availability, individually adjustable

The VD58982x incremental encoders from ipf electronic can be parameterized on site. This means that these solutions are instantly available and ready for use.

Incremental encoders are ideal for rotation angle or speed measurements, as they convert a rotary movement into a digital output signal that can be processed by downstream evaluation electronics. In solutions that work according to the optical scanning principle, there is an impulse disc with a repeating line graduation inside the device, which is scanned by an optical system.

The main drawback is that, as the graduation has to be specified ex works, there is a separate device version for each individual graduation and therefore an extensive product range. The application therefore requires a corresponding stock of different versions.

The parameterizable incremental encoders from ipf electronic are different. They can be set directly on site using a PC via a USB interface and can therefore be flexibly adjusted to the required number of pulses (between 1 and 65536 pulses) per revolution. The encoders provide two signals per output (push-pull), shifted by 90 degrees in relation to each other, for the highest possible resolution. A total of three encoder types with a housing diameter of 58mm are available: the VD589820 with a 6mm solid shaft, the VD589821 with a 10mm solid shaft and the VD589822 with a 12mm hollow shaft.

All parameterizable encoders are designed for operating temperatures from -20° C to +80° C, have a supply voltage range of 5 to 30V DC and impress with their high shock and vibration resistance.
