Optical sensors - Color sensors
Color sensors work by analyzing the red, green, and blue components of the light reflected by the objects being measured, or the radiation emitted by “self-luminous” sources (e.g., red LEDs, car taillights, halogen lamps, fluorescent lamps, etc.). To this end, the device incorporates a so-called triple receiver along with a white light or UV illumination system that can be turned on or off. This receiver operates according to the True Color principle. This means that the evaluation of the light that impinges on the receiver is based on the color perception of the human eye. This is essential for reliably distinguishing between objects or self-luminous sources based on their color and brightness. Testing fluorescent materials requires the use of sensors with a UV light source. Operation under adverse environmental conditions is possible through the use of an additional optical fiber. These devices are characterized by the combination of precise detection and a high switching frequency. This makes them an ideal tool for process control and quality assurance.
