They are extremely small, but work just like their larger counterparts. The OTQ9 diffuse reflection sensor series is characterized by a compact design combined with convenient operation - and a respectable operating range of 2 to 60 mm for this size. Alignment of the sensors is extremely simple as they work with visible red light.

Due to the background suppression, objects are reliably recognized regardless of their degree of reflection. The desired sensing range is set via teach-in. These optical diffuse reflection sensors also offer a choice between static and dynamic detection.

Dynamic detection is ideal when objects moving quickly past the sensor need to be recognized. The switching frequency of the OTQ9 series is 1kHz; the response time and decay time are 0.5ms. The sensing function can be selected between light-on (normally open) and dark-on mode (normally closed). The sensors are connected via a 2m PVC cable or an M8 cable connector and have either an axial or radial cable outlet on the housing.
