Oldies but Goldies... - FI520170
...this applies not only to music or classic automobiles. We are a little proud to present some sensors here that have been in ipf's portfolio for a long time, but which can still be used to implement reliable solutions in various process applications.
The FI520170 is an unusual level sensor at first glance. It was developed by us for a special customer requirement to monitor bulk materials in sorting and conveying systems.
The "head" of the sensor contains a cuboid inductive sensor and a small metal plate at the articulated base of the 200 mm long plastic pendulum rod. The perpendicularly hanging pendulum or the metal plate in the pendulum base actuate the inductive sensor (empty signal). Bulk materials move the pendulum or take it with them, so to speak, so that the inductive sensor is no longer actuated (full signal). This form of bulk material monitoring is less complicated than an optical solution, for example, which is almost impossible to adjust in vibratory or shaking conveyors due to the constant vibrations and movements.
The development of the FI520170 proved to be a lasting success. Due to the demand for this sensor, versions with different pendulum lengths or stainless steel joints (for more stable guidance) were added over the years.
