Flowmeters for special challenges

Hydrogen is one of the straight energy sources of the future. As a result, more and more applications for this medium are emerging in practice. One example among many is the recording of the volume of hydrogen produced using renewable energies.

High-precision and robust sensors are required to record the consumption and flow rate of hydrogen.

For this purpose, ipf electronic offers customized sensors such as the SY98F002. The functionality of the SY98F002 is based, like all flow sensors from ipf electronic, on the calorimetric principle. This device therefore provides high-precision values for the volume, flow rate, velocity and temperature of gaseous media. A further advantage of the calorimetric principle is that no additional temperature or pressure compensation is required.

The housing made of die-cast aluminum with integrated LED display and the resistant sensor element made of 1.4571 stainless steel make the sensors designed for particularly demanding industrial applications.

The SY98F002 is pressure-proof up to 16 bar (other devices as high-pressure variants on request) and is parameterized via two optical buttons on the easy-to-read display on the front. The electrical supply is provided by a connection cable that is inserted into the device via the cable gland.

The available data interfaces include MBus, RS485, Ethernet or Ethernet with PoE (Power over Ethernet).

Along with the SY98F002 ipf electronic is generally able to provide other devices calibrated for hydrogen with various process connections and data interfaces according to customer requirements.
