ipf products in the EPLAN Data Portal
More than 1,200 product macros from ipf electronic have been available in the EPLAN Data Portal since April 2020. All macros meet the newly introduced EDS quality standard, which is currently only provided by a few component manufacturers. The EPLAN Data Portal has been providing component data from leading manufacturers for around 12 years, which can be used directly in project planning with the widely used EPLAN software solutions.
The portal currently contains via 950,000 component data in EPLAN format from over 300 manufacturers. The quality of such data, especially in 3D format, is now becoming increasingly important in design and manufacturing processes. The EPLAN Data Standard (EDS) was developed at the end of 2019 in order to better meet the associated requirements and thus offer manufacturers and applications a uniform basis for the creation and use of component data.
It describes for manufacturers which component data should be provided in which form in the Data Portal and gives transducers a decisive orientation as to which data they can expect when components are downloaded from the Data Portal. Along with the pure circuit diagram, for example, product images, descriptive texts, basic technical data or links to the complete German and English documentation of the articles are also stored in the macros.
The product macros described in accordance with EDS thus enable EPLAN users to integrate components even more easily into their planning and production processes. Further advantages include less maintenance effort for the part data and better manageability for automated processes.
