New M8 logic distribution terminals

The logic modules from ipf electronic, which logically link the outputs of several sensors, have been around for via 20 years. This is necessary, for example, for clamping fixtures in which a clamped part must be inquired at several points to ensure correct positioning. However, the inquiry of all sensors with the PLC (programmable logic controller) would unnecessarily increase cycle times and also require a high number of inputs and signal lines. With the help of our logic modules, the outputs of the sensors can be AND or OR-linked on site instead. Only one line is required for the connection of the module to the control (unit).

In recent years, logic distributors with M12 or M8 slots in particular have become increasingly important. We have therefore considered what can be improved on these devices and initially revised the distribution terminals with M8 slots.

In the new VL31 logic modules, the electronics are fully compound-filled and therefore even better protected against vibrations and external influences. The PIN assignment is printed on the lateral side and is therefore also visible when the distribution terminal is installed. The M12-connector for the voltage supply and the linked outputs is now a 5-pin version. This offers two decisive advantages: the cores of a 5-core cable socket have a larger cross-section and cable sockets with LEDs, e.g. for checking the supply voltage, can be used if required. The 2x2-way AND, 2x4-way AND and 2x5-way AND distribution terminals each have an additional output where all signals are AND-linked.

In the long term, the new VL31 will replace the previous VL30 series. However, sufficient stocks of the VL30 are still available if required.
