New fully electronic dual logic modules
Linking digital signals directly to machines and systems can make a significant contribution to minimizing effort and therefore also costs. Linking different signals directly in the field avoids long cable runs, reduces the wiring effort and also reduces the need for control inputs.
Logic modules from ipf electronic have been around for via 20 years. From the compact VL25 module for top-hat rail mounting to the VL60 series with M12 slots and the VL31 series with M8 slots, there is a suitable solution in the range for almost every application. In 2020, the first fully electronic dual logic modules VL150102 (2-fold AND) and VL150122 (2-fold OR) were very successfully added to the product portfolio. Thanks to their compact and robust design, the devices are very versatile. The electronics ensure that "clean" signals are applied to the control (unit) - as if only one sensor is connected. The switching state of the output is signaled by an LED, which is clearly visible thanks to the transparent housing. The sensor-side connection with a line and corresponding connector is made via a 3-pin M8 socket. The modules can be mounted easily and securely using the integrated mounting hole.
In order to be even more flexible in the future, the logic distributor product family has been expanded by a further 4 devices. The VL160102 (2-fold AND) and the VL160122 (2-fold OR) have been added. On the sensor side, the logic modules have two 3-pin M8 sockets. The connection is realized via an M12-connector. The VL170102 (2-fold AND) and VL170122 (2-fold OR) devices have a 3-pin M12 connection on both sides.
The new devices offer more flexibility in combination with other logic modules such as the VL31 and VL60. For example, AND-linked signals can be OR-linked with other signals or additional signal inputs can be created in this way.
