Sensors with IO-Link, Decentralized automation intelligence

IO-Link is not a bus system, but a manufacturer-independent and secure point-to-point connection for sensors and actuators. Apart from the IO-Link interface, nothing changes in our sensors. They can therefore be used as usual. With one special feature: the IO-Link interface makes our devices intelligent, as they can communicate with higher-level control (unit) systems and can therefore be parameterized in part during running operation or provide additional valuable process, diagnostic and device data for production automation.

The potential is enormous: higher system availability and transparency in highly automated manufacturing processes as well as sustainable cost savings through targeted process optimization and the use of condition-based maintenance strategies, to name just a few examples.

An IO-Link system requires only a few components:

I IO link master

I IO link device (e.g. sensor)

I Connection cable (standard 3-wire sensor cable)

I Configuration tool (parameterization software for IO link master)

Advantages:

I Cost-efficient standardization of sensor technology

I Simple device replacement thanks to plug & play

I Efficient communication thanks to a single manufacturer-independent system

I Intelligent sensor technology that provides additional diagnostic information

I Direct change of sensor parameters during running operation

I Easy wiring without great effort and special requirements
