What is that? Blue light. And it can do much more

The recognition of deep black parts and shiny or transparent objects often presents diffuse reflection sensors with major challenges, meaning that a stable process sequence cannot always be guaranteed and erroneous operations can occur. ipf electronic now offers a new addition to its product portfolio: the optical blue light sensor OT340571 now offers the possibility of overcoming such challenges. Compared to conventional red light scanners, the sensor is characterized by its significantly higher process reliability, as its response behavior is completely independent of the shape, color and structure of the object to be recognized. Even large detection angles can be realized with this solution.

Thanks to its compact dimensions of 34x12x20mm and the robust, glass fiber reinforced plastic housing, the OT340571 with push-pull switching output is also suitable for confined installation conditions. The switching distance is 10...200mm. The background suppression can be set precisely via teach-in or via the integrated IO-Link interface, which can also be used to implement additional functions such as a window function, a turn-off delay or frequency monitoring. The clearly visible light spot makes it much easier to align the sensor in a specific application. The connection is made via a 4-pin M8 connector.
