Infrared sensor as early warning system

In a district heating plant, a metal conveyor belt is filled with coal and wood pellets via a hopper to supply the boilers with fuel. Particularly when wood pellets were used, so-called back fires occurred time and again in this process, forcing the fuel supply to be stopped, meaning the failure of a boiler and sometimes necessitating maintenance measures.

Since several infrared sensors from ipf electronic have been used as early warning systems, these problems are now a thing of the past.
