Special sensor technology for the delicate enamel

Solutions from ipf electronic increase roller service life

Finding special sensor technology for very specific applications is not so easy. This was also the experience of the Stollwerck company in Berlin when it wanted to modernize its more than 20-year-old rolling mills.

In order to be able to produce melt-in-the-mouth chocolate, a basic mass is needed whose ingredients (cocoa, butter, milk powder, fat, milk and sugar) are ground into dry flakes as a preliminary product in a five-high rolling mill and then dissolved in a so-called conche to form the basic chocolate mass.

Stollwerck required a special sensor solution for its rolling mills that prevents the rollers from running dry. If the rollers run dry for more than 20 seconds, a burn mark is created, which results in costly repairs.

After a long search, the company came into contact with ipf electronic. The sensor specialist was able to provide the chocolate producer with an economical special solution in a very short time, which was able to meet the high requirements right away.

In the course of the project, it also turned out that ipf electronic was able to help Stollwerck with further challenges in the field of sensor technology.
