ORQ80571
Optical sensors - Retro-reflective sensors
The ORQ80571 uses a pinpoint LED that emits a point-shaped, polarized red light with a wavelength of 644 nm. The sensor’s range is 3 m (reflector AO000007). The sensor has short-circuit and reverse polarity protection, making it particularly robust and safe in operation. With a switching frequency of up to 2000 Hz and a response time of 0.25 ms, the sensor is extremely fast and precise.
Advantages
- PinPoint LED (small, homogeneous light spot), red light polarized
- IO-Link interface
- Teach-in function on the sensor or via the connection cable
- High functional reserve for maximum reliability
Reflective Photoelectric Sensor
The retro-reflective light barrier is an optical sensor in which the transmitter and receiver are housed in a single housing. The transmitter generates a light beam—usually red or infrared light—that is directed toward a reflector facing it. The reflector bounces the light beam back to the receiver
As long as the light beam travels unobstructed between the sensor and the reflector, the sensor receives the reflected light. However, if an object is in the beam path, the light beam is interrupted. The receiver detects the loss of light, and the sensor generates a switching signal. This allows objects to be recognized contactless and reliably.
For reliable function, the retro-reflective light barrier is equipped with a polarizing filter . This filter reduces interfering light and improves the distinction between the light reflected by the reflector and unwanted reflections. As a result, the sensor operates reliably even under challenging environmental and lighting conditions.
Depending on the version, various configuration options are available, including light-on/dark-on mode, exclusive-OR versions, and PNP and NPN outputs. Parameterization is conveniently performed via a teach button or a potentiometer. In addition, some models are equipped with an IO-Link interface, enabling easy integration and diagnostics in modern automation systems.
Teach-In
The convenient and wear-free teach-in procedure allows for flexible and precise setting of the sensors. To program the sensors, simply touch the teach-in area on the back of the sensors with any ferromagnetic tool. A blue LED visually indicates whether the teach-in was successful. Five minutes after the operating voltage is applied or after the last teach-in process, the teach-in locking mechanism is automatically activated.
