Optical sensors - Diffuse reflection sensors with intensity differentiation

The energy diffuse reflection sensor OTQ80475 uses a pulsed LED that emits a point-shaped red light with a wavelength of 644 nm. The sensor’s sensing range is from 20 to 200 mm. The sensor has short-circuit and reverse polarity protection, making it particularly robust and safe in operation. With a switching frequency of up to 2 kHz and a response time of 0.25 ms, the sensor is extremely fast and precise.

Intensity Differentiation Diffuse Reflection Sensors / Energetic
Energetic reflective sensors use the light intensity reflected by an object for object detection. The switching threshold is set to a defined signal value. However, the switching point depends not only on the distance between the sensor and the object, but also on the object’s reflectance properties. Material, color, surface finish, gloss level, and texture influence the intensity of the reflected light and thus the signal received by the sensor.

Teach-In
The convenient and wear-free teach-in procedure allows for flexible and precise setting of the sensors. To program the sensors, simply touch the teach-in area on the back of the sensors with any ferromagnetic tool. A blue LED provides visual confirmation that the teach-in was successful. Five minutes after the operating voltage is applied or after the last teach-in procedure, the teach-in locking mechanism is automatically activated.
